With more than 100 categories of events, we have something for everyone.
After many years of creating the Lethbridge Loop paper, it was time for an upgrade! Something that could be updated quickly and keep relevant news and events up to date at a moments notice.
My hope is that this will be a Lethbridge resource. A place you look when you want to wow your visitors or just get out of the house and be in the community you live!
Built from 1907 - 1909, it is the largest railway structure in Canada and the largest of its type in the world.
It can sway up to 1 metre from side to side and was painted black for a very specific purpose... can you guess why?
With the current ranking of 3rd largest amount of wind turbines in Canada, you are seeing more and more pop up! As of 2022, wind supplied approximately 12 per cent of Alberta's net-to-grid generation for power.
Built from 1957- 59, it was used by the city of Lethbridge till 1999. In 2000 a public plea for the building to be saved and made a landmark began. The city sold the water tower to Mr. Bergen and, in March 2003, it began transformation into what we see today!
American white pelicans are found in Alberta during their mating season, which usually ranges from March or April until September or October.
Other pelican species dive to catch fish, but these pelicans catch food from the surface of water while swimming. Pelicans eat more than 4 lbs of fish per day.
The current Fort Whoop-Up is a replica of an original fur trading fort built in the late 1800s. Fort Whoop-Up was the nickname (eventually adopted as the official name) given to a whisky trading post, originally Fort Hamilton. During the late 19th century, the post served as a centre for trading activities, including the illegal whisky trade.
We would love to say we know all the events that happen, but we are still learning about all the amazing things that happen in our city! So if you know of something happening that we don't have listed. We want to know!
